Climbing in Mallorca is a sport activity which is getting very popular day by day. Itâs equivalent of self improvement, as much as mentally as physically, ideal for childrenâs development and as a family activity. Also, Mallorcaâs Mediterranean weather, its calcareous rock and thousands of climbing schools and sectors makes it ideal for classic climbing on high walls and the peaks and also for sport climbing, without forgetting psicobloc
Â
Mallorca is one of the favorite destinations for climbers from all over Europe. During spring and summer you can enjoy climbing and the sea with psicobloc, or climbing sectors with the sea in the background, having a swim whenever you want and enjoy a well-deserved rest after a hard days climbing. During winter the mild temperatures and climbing sectors oriented to the south make climbing in Mallorca very pleasant and not to have to practice in indoor climbing walls as most parts of Europe.
Â
At Karakorum Adventure we have hiking activities for all ages and levels, with or without previous experience. Even if you would like to enjoy only one day sport climbing or begin to learn with our courses and climbing monographs, or if you have experience and would like to discover the most popular climbing routes in Mallorca, we recommend you to do this with local professionals as are our climbing guides and enjoy your experience to the full with maximum security.

Here you can find some of the most popular climbing schools and sectors where they have climbing routes and tracks for all kind of levels, from IVÂș to 7Âș 8Âș grade:
Â
One of the most popular sport climbing schools in Mallorca because of its closeness to the sea and the diversity of routes at all levels, easy ones (IVÂș, VÂș and 6th grade) to experienced climbers (7Âș grade). Not far away we find Cales Varques, famous for practicing psicobloc between its marvelous caves suspended over an intense turquoise sea.
Â
Along with Cala Magraner, they make the south coast of Mallorca be one of the favorite areas for climbing on the island. Climbers from northern Europe choose it looking for good weather, the sea and rock. In its calcareous rock cliffs with a strong orange color we find vertical routes with different grades, dominating the 7th grade. Near here we can find Es Pontas, famous for the 9a which the North American Chris Sharma completed.
Â
It is a perfect climbing sector in Mallorca for summer because itâs facing north. Situated in an idyllic surrounding and with a fabulous view to Alcudiaâs bay, it is one of the most peaceful sectors to climb without being disturbed. Arabs and hermits who founded Artaâs church already named it the âdesert of Binialgorfaâ because of the peacefulness of the area. Here there are routes of all kind of grades from IVÂș - VÂș to 8b.
Â
Scarcely 20 minutes away from Palma de Mallorca, this climbing school, is one of the first and famous ones for classic and sport climbing. We find a 250 meter high wall with all grade routes, equipped, semi-equipped or non-equipped for classic and purist ones. Sa Gubia is ideal for people who would like to initiate into classic climbing with a normal ascension route which doesnât exceed the IVÂș+..
Â
This is one of the favorite sport climbing sectors for resident climbers in Palma because of its many easy routes and its proximity to the capital. Within 5 minutes by foot approach, it is an ideal sector for a climbing baptism or a sport climbing o rock initiation course.
Â
Ideal sport climbing school for all year around. Situated in the south west of Mallorca, in Andratx, at the Serra of Tramuntana. It has many easy routes with an approach of 15 minutes by foot.
Â
Another nice sector for sport and classic climbing in Mallorca. We find many varied routes between 6Âș and 7Âș grade. Its enormous orange walls with gullies jut out from nowhere, only leave one unique route to reach the top by foot. Already before the Arabs, this place was chosen to raise the fortress which nowadays is a shelter for climbers and hikers
